Happy Saturday! I hope everyone is having a great weekend so far.  Today I'm so excited to be showing you the Pahlish half of a collaborative collection with Elevation Polish!  The Adventures of Marco Polo Collection was inspired by the Netflix show Marco Polo.  It's been on my list of things to watch and I this collection gave me the kick in the pants.  I ended up binge watching.  If you love historical period pieces with lots of drama, definitely give this show a try.

Elevation Polish Spam

Press Sample

Hi everyone!  Today I have a few Elevation Polishes to show you.  I was a little late to the Elevation Polish party and didn't discover them until late 2013, but since then they've quickly become one of my favorite indie polish brands!

First up is Wai'anapanapa from the Hawaiian Punch Collection.  It has a black jelly base with lots of pink and purple flakie shimmer.  This polish appears to be mostly black, but the flakes peak through and makes things interesting.  Application on this was great.  This is 2 coats.

Quarter Past Midnight is from the Journey Told Through Music Collection.  It's a duochrome that appears blue straight on, but shifts easily to purple.  At random angles you may catch a bit of burgundy and green-gold.  I thought it would be sheer, but after the first coat, it was perfectly opaque.  The application on this was great.  A lot of duochromes are extremely thin, but Quarter Past Midnight has the perfect consistency.  This is 2 coats.

Lost in the Darkness 2 is from The Darkness Collection.  It's a beautiful blue toned green holo with a bit of gold shimmer.  Green + holo so you know I'm all over this!  This one was a tad thick, but still applies very well.  This is 2 coats.

And the last one for today is Limestone from the Stones Throw Collection.  I reviewed this one a while ago and I love it just as much as I did then.  Limestone is an off white (Lulu calls it vanilla white) creme with tiny gold and copper flakes and micro shimmer.  Application was very nice, especially for a white based polish.  This is 2 coats.

Elevation Polish is off this month, so there will be no restocks during the month of March, but all of these and more are still available on the website!  Be sure to check Elevation Polish out at the following places for more info and updates!

Laquerlicious Burnt Marshmallow

I hope all my American followers had a great Thanksgiving (I know I'm a bit late) and everyone else had a great weekend/week!  I took a week break from blogging, but I'm back.

Today is just a quick post of Laquerlicious Burnt Marshmallow from the fall collection.  I wanted this for a while and now I finally have it on my nails!  Burnt Marshmallow is an off white, grey base with loads of gold. copper and black glitters.  I really like this polish a lot.

Formula on this was nice.  The glitter didn't clump up and everything goes on smoothly.  It dries slightly textured, but that's to be expected with glitter.  An extra coat of top coat and you're good.

This is 2 coats.

KBShimmer Winter 2014 Collection Selections

Press Sample

Collection selections.  I swear I didn't do that on purpose.  Maybe...

Today I have some of KBShimmer's Winter collection to show you.  I can't believe it's that time again.  It feels like 2014 just started!

On to the swatches!

First up is Let's Sleigh Together.  This polish has a pale/light gray crelly base that borders on being white with blue, mint, and green glitter as well as some smaller holo glitter pieces.  This applied easily.  No complaints.  This is 3 coats.

Smitten Polish Nimbus

Press Sample

Hi everyone!  Today I have another gorgeous polish from Smitten Polish!  Nimbus is a creamy off white, dove gray with one of my favorite things: holo!  It's so dreamy, soft and delicate, but the holo gives it a little edge.  My mom is already demanding to borrow it lol.

This polish was a little thick, but went on without a hitch and was suprisingly opaque.

This is 2 coats.

Bonita Dying to Party

Hope everyone is having a great weekend so far!  I've just been plain lazy today and haven't done anything productive.  Damn you Netflix!

My nail also broke the other day.  It's been torn for a while and I've been letting it grow out for about a month (it was torn all the way beyond the quick).  I finally tore off all the way while washing my hair.  I swear my hair has it out for my nails!  They're always catching on it.  I'm enjoying my short nails though so I can't complain too much.

So today I have a polish brand that I haven't tried before.  I've been seeing displays at Rite Aid for a few months, but never bought any.  I few weeks I saw their Halloween display and picked Dying to Party and another up.  Dying to Party is a white that comes off slightly gray with silver shimmer/micro glitter (I can't decide which . . . more of a large particle shimmer though).

The application on this wasn't what I expect from a white, but it wasn't great either.  It dragged a bit on the first and second coats and didn't smooth out, but Seche fixed that.  Also, this polish dries to a slight matte finish.  Overall, I liked this polish.  I love the silver shimmer in it!

This is 3 coats.

Elevation Polish Limestone

I've been lemming this polish since I saw it over at Ida Nails It (if you aren't following her, you need to asap!  She has gorgeous swatches!).  When I went to buy it, it was sold out, but I finally got my hands on it and it does not dissapoint.  Limestone is an off white polish with little gold/copper flecks and shimmers.  I absolutely love it and Elevation Polish is becoming one of my favorite indies.

Aside from being a bit thick, this applied perfectly.

This is 2 coats.

You can buy Elevation Polishes here.  They restock on the 7th and 22nd of every month.  I believe LLarowe also sells Elevation Polish.

OPI My Vampire is Buff

Today's NOTD is My Vampire is Buff from OPI's Spring 2013 Euro Centrale collection.  This is the only one I purchased from this collection (gasp).  I was pretty disappointed in this collection, especially in comparison to last years Holland collection.  Nearly all of the polishes seem dupe-able .

I am however in love with this one because I love opaque off white polishes and all the other off white polishes in my stash lean a little pink and I can't think of a dupe.  I'll probably be wearing this on my toes all summer.

Now since this is a white based polish, application was not the greatest and was a little on the thin side.  It kept pooling in my cuticles, but it was nothing a little clean up wouldn't fix.  It was also a bit streaky on initial application.

This is 3 coats.

Happy 4th of July !

Every year, I get the courage to marble my nails once or twice.  And every year I swear I'm never going to do it again lol.  The results usually come out nice, but it's the getting there.  It's such a messy process.  Last night I got brave again and decided to try my hand at marbling again.  It didn't end horribly, but it's not my best work either.

Essie Baby's Breath

I wasn't going to share this manicure, but my friend Dana has informed me that I'm not updating enough. :insert eye roll here:  So today I have on Essie's Baby's Breath.  Now I know this is meant to be sheer, but I hate visible nail line and I couldn't help but try my best to make it opaque.  I managed . . . after 5 coats.
