Twinsie Tuesday - Anti-Valentine's Day

Hi everyone!  Today's Twinsie Tuesday post is all about Anti-Valentine's Day.  The first thing that popped in my head to do is a gradient from red to black.  My gradient was a bit of a fail.  This look didn't quite come out like I imagined, but it's growing on me.

For this look I used:
-OPI Big Apple Red (one of my favorite reds)
-Wet n Wild Black Creme
-Nicole by OPI Pitch Black Shimmer (this one is a black glitter and hard to find, sorry!)

Check out the other Twinsies' interpretations!

Indigo Bananas Holo Chrome Flakies

Press Sample

Hi everyone!  Today I have some fabulous-ness from Indigo Bananas.  These are not just chrome flakies that everyone has been obsessing over, but there's added holo too!  I reviewed one about a month ago and I just had to have Accretian Disk (holo).  In my order Andrea kindly shipped over the two new additions and I'm (still) obsessed!

This post will be heavy on the pictures, so read on after the jump!

China Glaze Twinkle Collection - My Picks

Hi everyone!  Hope everyone had a merry Christmas, a happy Hanukkah, or just a great December!  I've been meaning to post my selections for the China Glaze Twinkle Collection for Winter 2014 for a while.  I bought them more than a month ago!  Holiday festivities have gotten in the way of posting.  I've been wearing the same polish for a little more than a week now!

First up is Out Like a Light.  This is a dark gray creme and absolutely perfect.  Application was great.  This is one thick coat.

I'd Melt for You is a smooth metallic silver that reminds me quite a bit of Millennium from the Khrome Collection that everyone raved about in 2009.  I'll have to do a comparison post soon.  This is one of those polishes that you should wait for to dry in between coats or it starts to clump a bit and if you have ridges, they show.  I still love it though!  This is 2 coats.

Pine-ing for Glitter has green multi sized glitter in a clear base.  This is it over Out Like a Light.  While I used it as a topper, it can be built up and used alone.  This is one coat.

December to Remember.  I have to say I was disappointed in this color.  It's a frosty blue, with pink shimmer/micro glitter that shifts colors a bit.  The shift looks a lot more obvious in the bottle, but doesn't show much on the nail.  This is 2 coats.

Another glitter from the collection, is Feeling Twinkly.  This is a medium blue micro glitter in a clear base.  It can be layered to opacity or used as a topper.  I used it as a topper here over Out Like a Light.  Love this combo!  This is 1 coat over Out Like a Light.

Last but not least is Meet Me Under the Stars.  This is another favorite!  Black, silver, and a sprinkling of blue micro glitter in a black jelly base.  You can layer it over a darker color or just wear it alone.  Here, I used it alone.  This is 2 coats.

Over all I enjoyed these, especially layering them which is something I don't do often enough.  Did you buy anything from this collection?

OPI Push and Shove

Today I have for you the popular Push and Shove.  It's the only one I purchased from the Gwen Stefani collection.  Push and Shove is a silver chrome much like those mirror chromes from Maybelline from way back when.  OPI says on the packaging that it doesn't wear long and they weren't lying.  It also shows every single imperfection on the nail, so if you have ridges, buff them out or be prepared to see them magnified times ten.

Application is a bit tricky.  First it comes with its own special base coat that it needs.  Second, if you apply layers too soon after the other, the polish will clump up and streak so it's best to wait a bit between coats.

This is 2 coats.

Update: I usually don't comment too much on wear since I change my polish so often, but I've gotten a couple of emails asking about it.  OPI meant what they said.  This polish isn't long lasting.  After washing my hair, there was tip wear.  After a day of doing normal things like typing, washing dishes, etc, my right hand had quite a few chips.  My left hand isn't as bad, but still has tip wear and a few chips.

Nail Bliss Metallic Nails

For New Years Eve I decided to do something I don't normally do.  Enamel Girl told me about the sale Sally's was having on all their clearance items, so of course I ran to go check it out.  I got some of the holiday China Glazes and I saw these metallic falsies that looked just like minx.  They were only 2 dollars after the discount.  I used the sticker that came in the package to attach the nails, but I'm pretty sure they'd last much longer with nail glue.  I just wanted them on for New Years.

Here they are in all their reflective glory:
