China Glaze Tickle My Triangle - Throwback Thursday

Okay everyone, we're going to pretend like it's still Thursday.  I had this mani on and completely blanked on making a blog post!

Tickle My Triangle (is it just me or is this supposed to be naughty? lol) is a medium pink/fuchsia scattered holo and  comes from the Kaleidoscope collection that was released in 2007.  This collection is definitely a classic and one day I'll own all of them.  I think I'm just missing Rated Holographic and Spin Me Around.

This goes on perfect in 2 coats.

Do you have any of these?  What's your favorite China Glaze collection?

Sally Hansen Edgy Creme and OPI Thrills in Beverly Hills - Throwback Thursday

Hi everyone! It's been a while since I've done Throwback Thursday so today I'm bringing it to you double time with not one, but 2 throwbacks!

For this look, I used Sally Hansen Edgy Creme which is one of those pretty ugly colors, but I love these kinds of cameo sage greens.  I'm crossing my fingers for some shades like these in the fall.  I can never get enough!

I then layered OPI Thrills in Beverly Hills on top.  This throw back is a top coat with an antique gold shimmer/micro flakes.  This top coat is a black label and is originally from the Shopping Around the World Collection, Holiday 2005.

And a bonus picture with the OPI bottle.

Throwback Thursday: The Original OPI My Private Jet

Hi everyone!  I'm a little behind on swatching, but it's been so long since I've done a Throwback Thursday post that I'm going to play "hookie" and do one anyway.  I love wearing my oldies.

OPI's My Private Jet is a favorite among collectors and if we were going to do a history of polish it would definitely be more than a foot note.  It originally made it's debut as a part of the OPI Night Brights collection released in 2007.  It was a charcoal holo and it's funny to think about it now how rare black holos were when there are tons of them around now.  Anyways, all of a sudden people were finding My Private Jets that looked very different from the original.  The newer one was more brown, but holo was scattered and not really there and some even had a blue flash.  I don't know what OPI was thinking, but the color of My Private Jet has changed at least 3 times.  The polish is now core and I'm not even sure what it looks like now.  I'm just glad I was able to get an original!

And without further ado, the original My Private.  This is 3 coats.

Do you have My Private Jet?  What reformulated polish do you wish they'd change back?

Throw Back Thursday: China Glaze Crystal Ball

Time for another edition of Throw Back Thursday!  Today is all about the classic China Glaze Crystal Ball.  I found this one dusty hunting some years ago and was so excited.  Now it's really showing it's age.  It's missing it's face (front label is fading) and the silver top is starting to chip off.  The missing face thing has happened to quite a few of my China Glazes and I really wish they would use something more lasting.  That never happens to my OPIs.

Anyways, Crystal Ball is a burgundy shimmer with a sprinkling of micro holo glitter.  It's like the sister of Grape Crush.  I love it, but love Grape Crush a little more.  This is 2 coats.

Throwback Thursday - Orly Satin Royalty

Since demi-matte polishes seem to be the current trend (Zoya Satins, Essie Cashmeres, etc) I thought I'd share one I've had in my collection since around 2001.  Orly Satin Royalty.  This comes from their Satin Hues collection and I'm really not sure when it originally came out, but doing a little search on the internet, it seems these were released around 1998.  All I know is I wore this one quite a bit when I was a freshman in high school.  Check out the old Orly bottle!

This is 2 coats.

Throwback Thursday: Milani Dress Maker

Welcome to another addition of Throwback Thursday! (I'm a little late, but it's still Thursday in Los Angeles!)

In the fall of 2009 Chanel released Jade as a part of their Jade Nail collection from Peter Phillips.  Everyone went crazy for Jade.  It sold out everywhere and started going for exorbitant prices on ebay.  I'm talking $200.  Now you're just lucky to see it pop up on ebay.  Several polish companies tried to duplicate Jade and the consensus seemed to be that Milani Dress Maker came the closest.  Dress Maker came along in 2010 as a part of the Haute Value collection.  Of course it's now also discontinued.

This is 4 coats.

Sally Hansen Golden Tourmaline

It's Thursday, so how about a bit of a throwback with Golden Tourmaline from Sally Hansen's Nail Prisms line.  This is where I say I wish they would bring them back.  They had some gorgeous colors and finishes that would fit right in with all the holos and multichromes that are popular now.

Golden Tourmaline is a pinkish red holo.  I bought it 4 years ago because for a while it seemed almost impossible to have a true red holo and this seemed like the closest we'd get to it.  Now with indies, there are quite a few true red holos out there. No regrets buying this though, because it's gorgeous!  These pictures do it no justice.

This is 2 coats.

OPI Comet Loves Cupid

The week is almost over!  And since it's Thursday, how about a little throw back.  I felt like wearing a classic bright red and I've had this sitting waiting to be tried since the collection came out.  Comet Loves Cupid is from the OPI Holiday Wishes collection for Winter 2009 and is long discontinued.  (I've seen it floating around on Ebay though.)  Holiday Wishes had some gems.

Comet Loves Cupid is a juicy bright red cream.  The formula was a little thin, but otherwise perfect and really only needed 1 coat, but I used 2 out of habit.

This is 2 coats.  What's your favorite holiday red?

China Glaze Meteor Shower

So since it's Thursday, I decided to put on sort of a throwback.  China Glaze Meteor Shower.  This one comes from that collection China Glaze put out in 2009 that consisted of 50 glitters.  I was so pumped when they came out with all those glitters and I wish I could have gotten them all.  I think most of them are discontinued now.

Meteor Shower has a very dark navy base filled with opalescent glitters.  Now I'm going to be blunt, the formula on this was HORRIBLE.  It was in desperate need of thinner (of course I've run out) and it had somewhat of a mud like consistency.  But let's face it, this polish is going on 5 years old and some it may have evaporated a bit.  I don't remember it being this hard to apply.

This glitter is also a top coat eater.  I used a coat of Gelous and a coat of Seche Vite and after drying, it's still not as smooth as I like it.  I expected that.  Over all it's a lovely polish.

This is 2 coats.

China Glaze Channelesque

Today since its Thursday, I decided to do a throw back mani with China Glaze Channelesque.  Channelesque is from the Creme Couture collection  from 2004 and has since been discontinued.  It's one of those purple/grey mushroom colors that became really popular a couple of years ago.  I still love it!

This is 2 coats.

OPI Changing of the Garnet

Hey everyone!

So today I have a polish I found a while ago when I raided my mom's polish collection.  It's called Changing of the Garnet and it's from OPI's European Collection for Fall of 2002.  It's definitely a throwback.  Changing of the Garnet, like it's name sake, is a pretty deep red color.  Not really a unique color, but lovely none the less.  Since this is an older polish it's not 3 free (I always forget how strong nail polish used to smell), and also has OPI's older skinny brush.

Application was perfect black label goodness.

This is 2 coats.

Throw Back Thursday: China Glaze Fortune Teller

Today's Throw Back mani is China Glaze Fortune Teller.  It's from the 2009 Halloween collection and was a Sally Beauty exclusive.  I remember having to ge to a few Sally's to find this one, but it's my first time wearing it!

Fortune Teller has different sized orange hex glitter along with normal sized square glitter all in a black base.  I love it!

Application was good.  It wasn't to thick.  It is bumpy so I used Gelous and Seche.

This is 2 coats.

Throw Back Thursday: Hard Candy Ghetto Girl

It's been a while since I've posted and I've missed a few Throwback Thursdays.  School has gotten the better of me along with breaking a nail so far down it bled a bit.  It's grown but it's still not even as evidenced by the pictures in this post.

Anyways, today's Throw Back Thursday is all about Hard Candy Ghetto Girl.  I bought this one in high school about 9 years ago.  It's a metallic silver that is slightly iridescent and gives way to a golden color.

I have no complaints about application, but it's a bit brush stroke-y.

This is 2 coats.

Sidenote: If you decide to search for this polish in google images, make sure you have safe search on.  Let's just say I saw some things that cannot be unseen.

Throw Back Thursday: China Glaze Blk-Bila-Bong

Today is Throw Back Thursday on Addicted to Polish.  On Thursdays I'll be featuring older polishes from my collection.  I decided to start things off with China Glaze Blk-Bila-Bong from their 2007 Surf collection.  It has a black base that's filled with blue/green glass flecks that China Glaze was so famous for.

Application was okay.  It was streaky at first, but the next coat evened things out.

What do ya'll think?

This is 3 coats.
