Happy Valentine's Day

Happy Valentine's Day everyone!  I was determined to attempt some nail art.  As most of you know I'm not huge on nail art.  I love it, but I'm terrible at it and lack patience so I mostly sit back and admire everyone else's fabulous nail art.

For this look, I used Zoya Sooki, Illamasqua Boosh, Color Club Ruby Slippers, and Orly Fancy Fuchsia.

Hope everyone's day is filled with lots of love no matter where it comes from!

Illamasqua Rampage

I've had this polish for quite some time.  I think I bought it when trying to quench my thirst for Nars Zulu before they re-released it.  I'm sure everyone has seen it a million times, so I'll keep it short.  Green + Jelly finish = LOVE!

This is 2 coats.

Illamasqua Radium

I was digging through my stash today and couldn't figure out what I wanted to wear.  (That's probably because of the massive amounts of untrieds I have.  I mean its ridiculous.)  So instead of my usual ritual of paint each finger a different color  and seeing which one fit my mood best, I closed my eyes and picked one.  Out came Illamasqua Radium!

Radium is from Illamasqua's Spring 2011 collection.  It's a bright pea green that has a bit more brown in it and subtle green shimmer that shows up in bright light.  It wouldn't say it's the most unique shade, but I love it on.

I have no complaints about the formula on this one.  It applies nicely.

This is 3 coats but could have gotten away with 2 if I was more careful.

Lynnderella Cauldron Drippings over Illamsqua Boosh

Lynnderella knows the way to my heart with all her unique, glittery offerings.  Cauldron Drippings (love this name!) is full of orange glitter in different shapes and sizes with sprinklings of random green, purple, blue, gold, and possibly some others.  I decided to layer it over Illamasqua Boosh for a nice Halloween look.

1 coat Boosh.

I then layered one coat of Cauldron Drippings.

So pretty!  The only thing I'm not looking forward to is removal (even with foil)

Illamasqua Boosh and Sally Hansen In the Spotlight

I slapped this mani on yesterday because I was in a rush and my students ended up loving it!  They're too cute sometimes.

Boosh is the best black with Wet n Wild's black cream as a close second.  And to think I bought it by accident. I thought I was buying Rampage and imagine my surprise when I opened it up when I got home.  Surprise isn't really even the word.  I was pissed.  And of course when I went back to exchange it, they didn't have any Rampage left, so I kept Boosh and I love it.

In the Spotlight is a holo string glitter in a clear base, and it looks awesome over black.  Science fiction-y good.

This is 1 coat of Boosh and 2 coats of In the Spotlight.

Illamasqua Rare

To celebrate the beginning of summer, I decided to go bright.  Neon, eye searing, blinding bright.  Of course I had to bring out the neon yellow.

As we all know, neon yellows tend to be extremely sheer and either require a ridiculous number of coats, or a couple of layers of white underneath.  Rare was different.  I used 4 coats, but probably could have gotten away with three.  It started off a bit streaky, but I was fine with it knowing what I could have been getting into with a yellow, and a neon yellow at that.  Needless to say, this started off my summer perfectly.

Illamasqua Muse

Hello to all the new followers!  I know I've been away for a while, but life and computer troubles have gotten in the way, but I'm back, getting back in the groove of things.

Today, I have Illamasqua Muse.  This is a gorgeous dusty turquoise cream.  Application was perfection.  I only needed one coat.

Illamasqua Blow

Blow.  Am I the only one who giggled at the name? lol

Anyways, this is a pretty yellow.  It's kind of like white and a neon yellow got together and had a baby (more white than neon yellow).   Application on this one was not like my other Illamasquas, but it's a yellow.  It applied better than I expected.  This is three coats for opacity.
