Twinsie Tuesday - Endometriosis Awareness

Hi everyone!  Today's Twinsie Tuesday post is about Endometriosis.  This is a hormonal and immune system disease.  It causes the tissue that lines the uterus (called the endometrium) to grow outside the uterus.  This tissue is normally shed every month resulting in a period.  Endometriosis symptoms include irregular bleeding, infertility, exhaustion, and debilitating pain during periods, bowl movement, sex, and extreme pain in the lower back and/or abdomen.  This is not just "bad cramps."  It is a real disease with no cure that affects approximately 1 in 10 women worldwide.

Today the Twinsies are wearing yellow in solidarity with those who suffer from endometriosis and to spread awareness.

For this look I used Color Club Almost Famous.  It's not the best formula, but its pretty and does eventually even up.  For the glitter I used Elevation Polish Haba Xueshan which is a black and white glitter with a few light blue glitters in between all in a clear base.

This is 3 coats of Almost Famous and 1 coat of Haba Xueshan.

Neon Dotticure

Hi everyone!  Today is just a quick post.  I decided to try my hand at a neon dotticure.  Since the neons were to sheer to do over black, I did a white dot first then did the neon dots on top.  I kind like it.

Color Club Who Are You Wearing?

I've been wearing Zoya Wendy all weekend and loving it.  I got so many complements!  But today I decided to go for a palette cleansing nude.  This little gem has been in my collection since it was released and I've never worn it!  Who Are You Wearing comes from Color Club's Rebel Debutante collection for Spring 2010.  It's what I would call a vanilla cream or a beige color.  It's a perfect nude for my skin tone because it still kind of "pops."

Formula on this was pretty good, but the first 2 coats are a bit on the streaky side.  Nothing too bad though.

This is 3 coats.

Happy Valentine's Day

Happy Valentine's Day everyone!  I was determined to attempt some nail art.  As most of you know I'm not huge on nail art.  I love it, but I'm terrible at it and lack patience so I mostly sit back and admire everyone else's fabulous nail art.

For this look, I used Zoya Sooki, Illamasqua Boosh, Color Club Ruby Slippers, and Orly Fancy Fuchsia.

Hope everyone's day is filled with lots of love no matter where it comes from!

Color Club Lava Lamp

I haven't worn a neon in a while so today I decided to wear one!  Color Club makes gorgeous neons and this one is no different.  Lava Lamp is a bright (obviously) orange that leans a little bit red.

This one had a nice application.  It wasn't too thick and it doesn't require several coats or a white base.

This is 3 coats.

Color Club Ruby Slippers

Okay so you can't go though the holidays without wearing at least one red glitter.  China Glaze Ruby Pumps usually gets all the love so I dug through my stash and found Color Club's Ruby Slippers.  Like Ruby Pumps it has a red base with red glitter, but the red is a bit brighter and is packed with even more glitter.  I love it!

It applied great.  It wasn't too thick and was easily controlled.  It is however a top coat eater so be prepared to bust out Gelous before your final top coat.

This is 2 coats.

Color Club Harp On It

Can I just say that I love that Color Club has been coming out with all these fabulous holos.  They aren't all the most unique, but they're very holo and apply almost perfectly without the need for an aqua base.

Harp On It is the silver one of the bunch.  I have tons of silver holos. but for some reason just keep buying them.  Maybe I should do a post of silver holo comparisons.  What do you think?

This is 2 coats, no top coat.

Color Club You Got Soul-ar

It's gloomy outside, so what better way to spice things up than with a neon.  Plus neons always look extra bright in this type of weather.  Any one else notice that?

You Got Soul-ar is part of Color Club's Starry Temptress collection for summer 2011.  It's a bright, neon orange with holo glitter.  The neon orange base is pretty opaque so the glitter only peeks through.  The application was on the thick side, but like most neons, didn't need a white base or a million coats for opacity.

This is 2 coats.

Color Club Nomadic in Nude

Nomadic in Nude is from Color Club's Back to Boho collection for Fall 2011.  I bought mine in a set from Ross.  I've been buying most of their newer collections from Ross lately.

Nomadic in Nude is one of those "greige" colors.  It's a light gray with some brown in it.  I'm still on the fence about how this color looks on me.  I'm still looking for the perfect nude.  Application was decent.  It was almost a 2 coater, but I needed three to fill in some of the bald spots.

This is 3 coats.

The sets from Ross don't have the name stickers on the bottom, so I made my own.  I hate having unlabeled polish.

Color Club Worth the Risque

Worth the Risque is from Color Club's Femme Fatal collection from Spring 2009.  It's a silver, holographic polish with a scattered holo effect.  It's not the most holo of the silver holos, but gorgeous in it's own right.  I don't know why my camera had some trouble picking up the holo, but I took about a million pictures.

This is 3 coats (you can probably get away with 2).

I'm Alive / Color Club Very Merry Berry

It never fails.  Every Thanksgiving, I'll be chopping, peeling, or grating something in the kitchen and BAM, something happens to a nail.  This year it was the index finger with the knife chopping green onions.  I really don't know why my family even lets me anywhere near a knife lol.  Anyways, the results where this:

So I've been MIA trying to grow it out and wearing nude polishes until I just couldn't stand it anymore.  My nails aren't back to my usual standards, but I had to put some color on them.

Of course I went all the way.  I layered Color Club Very Merry Berry over a China Glaze navy blue cream.

Color Club Almost Famous

Almost Famous is a lovely yellow that almost leans orange and is of course a pain in the ass to apply.  Like most yellows it was streaky, but I love yellow, so I don't mind putting in the extra work.  This is 4 coats.

Happy Belated St. Patrick's Day!

I know I'm a day late, but I thought I'd share my mani for yesterday anyways.  I went with Nina Pro's Salsa and on the ring finger is Color Club Object of Envy with OPI Orange You Glad It's Summer.

Color Club Gossip Column

This is a picture from my "archives".  Gossip Column is a part of Color Club's Rebel Debutante collection for Spring 2010.

If I remember correctly, this is three coats (a habit of mine), but two is all that's needed.

Color Club Ultra Violet and a Broken Nail

This is Color Club Ultra Violet from last years Electro Candy Collection.  It's a bright purple with beautiful blue shimmer in it.  This was three coats.

I also broke a nail that you can probably see in this picture.  I can't decide if I want to chop off all my nails, or try and salvage it and wait until it grows out a bit more.  What do y'all think?

Color Club Twiggie

This is a nice light green cream.  It needed 2 coats for opacity.

Color Club Magic Attraction

Magic Attraction.  The glitter polish that ignigted my loved for all  glitter polish (all except for Lippmann Funky Chunky).  It's a gorgeous holo glitter in a clear base.  The holo glitters look like twinkling lights.

Magic Attraction was pretty thick and needed two coats of seche vite to smooth out the surface.
