Throw Back Thursday: China Glaze Crystal Ball

Time for another edition of Throw Back Thursday!  Today is all about the classic China Glaze Crystal Ball.  I found this one dusty hunting some years ago and was so excited.  Now it's really showing it's age.  It's missing it's face (front label is fading) and the silver top is starting to chip off.  The missing face thing has happened to quite a few of my China Glazes and I really wish they would use something more lasting.  That never happens to my OPIs.

Anyways, Crystal Ball is a burgundy shimmer with a sprinkling of micro holo glitter.  It's like the sister of Grape Crush.  I love it, but love Grape Crush a little more.  This is 2 coats.

Zoya Ignite Collection Fall 2014 Swatches and Review

Press Sample

Hope everyone is having a great week so far and happy Veteran's Day to all the vets out there!

Today I have the second half of Zoya's Fall Collection.  (Check out Entice.)  Ignite consists of 6 polishes, all of which are shimmers with gold flecks and shimmer.  Let's get on to the swatches!

Remy is the blue of the collection with lots of gold shimmer.  Because of the deep blue base, the shimmer almost looks turquoise in the bottle.  Simply put, it's gorgeous (I'll be saying this a lot).  Application was great and it's a 1 coater!

Teigen is a "pink toned cranberry" with more of those gold shimmer flecks.  Application was nice.  No complaints.  This is 2 coats.

Sansa is a dark purple with lots of gold shimmer.  This is definitely one of my favorites.  No complaints about application. This is 2 coats.

Autumn is somewhere between a metalic and shimmer.  It's a reddish orange color (reminiscent of fallen autumn leaves) and has gold flecks throughout.  This isn't a polish I'd normally pick out, but I ended up really liking this one.  I love how it has flashes of gold twinkling through it.  Application was nice, but it does require a little more finesse so to avoid brush strokes.  This is 2 coats.

Yuna is the gray of this collection and an instant favorite.  This dark gray is made special by the greenish gold shimmer in it.  Application was good.  This is 2 coats.

And last, but for sure not least, is India.  This is such a classy color to me.  It's a deep red with lots of gold shimmer and in the bottle there seems to be hits of bits of blue shimmer (which isn't visible on the nail).  Nice application.  This is 2 coats.

Overall, this collection is a definite winner.  Zoya really does do these types of finishes very well.  I can honestly say that I enjoyed every single polish in this collection.  My favorites are Yuna, Sansa, India, and Remy.

The Ignite Collection is currently available on Zoya.com and retails for $9 USD.  Zoya is currently running a special on the Ignite, Entice, Naturel, and Naturel 2.  Polishes from these collections are buy one get one free with the code BFF.  This special ends 11/12/14 (11:59 ET).

Zoya Entice Collection for Fall 2014 Swatches and Review

Press Sample

I hope everyone had a great Labor Day, and if you aren't from the US, a great Monday!  Today I have for you the first part of Zoya's Fall offering for 2014: Entice.  It consists of 5 creams and 1 subtle frost.

On to the swatches!

Claire is a dark vampy burgundy cream.  Such a classic color to me.  No application complaints.  This is 2 coats.

Nyssa is a medium milk chocolate brown cream.  Brown seems to be the it color for fall this year.  It's been showing up everywhere!  The formula was a little thin, but otherwise perfect.  This is 2 coats.

Veronica.  Zoya calls it a wine color, but it's a bit lighter than that.  This had a great application.  This is 1 coat.

Margo is a "red plum" color.  Definitly a favorite.  A little thiner than the others but great application.  This is 2 coats.

Ryan is a dark navy blue.  Everyone needs a color like this in their collection.  This applied really well.  This is 2 coats, but you can definitely get away with 1.

And last but not least is Genevieve, a dark gray with hints of frosty shimmer.  This one was the most sheer of the bunch.  This is 2 coats.

Overall this is a nice little collection of classic creams and are perfect for fall.  My favorites are Margo, Ryan and Genevieve.  Do you plan on getting anything from this collection?

OPI Have You Seen My Limo?

This is a gorgeous "vampy" polish.  It has green duochrome and looks great in the bottle, but the duochrome doesn't exactly translate on the nail.  It's still a great color.  You can see the green shimmer up close.
