Elevation Polish Street Graffiti Collection + When the Cherry Met the Spoon

Press Sample

Hi everyone!  It's that time for the newest Elevation Polish collection, Street Graffiti, plus the much requested When the Cherry Met the Spoon.  Inspired by some of the great urban centers around the world, there's a little something for everyone.

Let's take a look!

First up is LA (my city of origin!).  It's a white crelly with very subtle pearl shimmer.  I love white polish.  I wear it all summer long and it looks great against darker/tanned skin.  LA is perfect for those who shy away from stark white-out whites but would prefer something more subdued.  The formula on this was pretty good.  It started of a little patchy, but builds.

This is 3 thin coats but I probably could have used a fourth.

NYC is a rubbery black matte cream with a hint of shimmer.  This one doesn't dry really fast like a lot of mattes do, but the formula is good and it looks great both with and without topcoat.

This is 2 coats shown with and without topcoat.

East London is a topper with a clear base and loads of holo and ultra chrome flakes.  I layered it over LA and NYC and honestly, it'd probably look really cool on its own.

This is 1 coat over LA and NYC.

Melbourne is one of my favorites from this collection.  It's creamy dusty blue perfection with gold green shimmer and some subtle holo.  I live for dusty blues like this!  Not only that, but the formula is perfect.  It's ALMOST a one coater.  You could probably get away with it with a thicker coat.

This is 2 coats.

Paris is another favorite.  This one is a plum holo.  I can't tell you how much I love vampy holos and this one fits the bill.  No applications on this one at all.

This is 2 coats.

When the Cherry Met the Spoon isn't apart of the Street Graffiti Collection.  This one started as an SBP (small batch prototype) and with a few changes is now a part of the core collection.  Be sure to check out Ida Nails It for a comparison of the SBP and it's current incarnation!  When the Cherry Met the Spoon is a berry jelly filled with ultra chrome and charcoal flakes as well as a bit of holo.  No application problems with this one.

This is 2 coats.

Overall this collection is perfect.  It's not your typical spring/summer color fare, but the holo makes it perfect for this time of the year and allows these to shine.  My favorites from this collection are definitely Melbourne and Paris.

The Street Graffiti Collection will be available June 7th at 9pm central.  Be sure to check out Elevation Polish at these places for more updates and information!

China Glaze Evening Seduction

I broke my nails.  That was 2 weeks ago.  When I say broke my nails, I mean all the way past the meat, a few were bleeding, and they hurt kind of broke.  It's been two weeks and they are still extremely short.  I don't think they've been this short in years.  I might be exaggerating a bit, but I know some one out there feels my pain.  So I've decided to come out of hiding, bust out one of my untried vampies and rock the nubbins.

China Glaze Evening Seduction fit the bill, so that's what I've got on today.  It originally hails from the Visions of Grandeur collection  that was released in 2005 but it's apart of the core line now. This is a true vampy polish.  It's a deep plum cream that borders on looking black.  Actually at a glance in certain lighting, it does look black.  It's perfect for my short nails and for October.

Application on this was great.  Everything applied smoothly, but be forewarned.  Apply with care because this is one of those polishes that's a pain to clean up.  Looks like your fingers have been bleeding if you don't do a thorough job.  Other than that, I love this polish.

This is 2 coats.

Zoya Naturel Deux (2) Swatches and Review

Early this year, Zoya released the Naturel collection full of lovely neutral shades.  Well, they're at it again and I'm loving this round!

Naturel Deux consists of 3 brown shades as well as 3 in the muave/plum color family, all of which are work appropriate.

On to the swatches!
