Hi everyone! Today I have some of the much anticipated KBShimmer Spring Collection for 2015. Lots of holo and glitter goodness! This post is picture heavy so read on after the jump!
Okay so first up is Blue-d Lines. This is a light blue linear holo. I have lots of pale blue holos in my stash and this one seems a bit brighter. Nice application. No streaking or balding at all! This is 2 coats.
Funky Cold Patina has a bright green/blue base with copper, blue, and purple hex glitters of varying sizes. The blue green base is reminiscent of old copper turned green like the Statue of Liberty! The base on this is a little more opaque than the other glitters in this collection. The formula was nice, but be sure to let the layers dry a bit or the large glitter may drag and make a bald spot. This is 3 coats, but could have gotten away with 2.
Ins and Sprouts is the green holo of the collection. It applied very well just like Blue-d Lines. This is 2 coats.
Cool Hand Cuke is one of my favorites of the collection! It has a pale green crelly base and is fill with lots of pastel glitters in different shapes and sizes, including triangle, stars, and circles. There's also a bit of holo micro glitter as well! This one was slightly thicker than the others, but applied well. Make sure you give it a good shake to get all the glitters swirling around! This is 3 coats.
Thistle Be the Day is a light lilac linear holo. This one had a nice application just like the previous 2. This is 2 coats.
I'm So Sweet Pea is another glitter in the collection. This one has a very pale purple crelly base with bright purple, turquoise, pink, and mint green glitters. It's gorgeous! I love how the purple and turquoise really pop. This one has a nice thin formula. Like Funky Cold Patina, make sure you let it dry between layers to prevent the larger glitters from dragging. This is 3 coats.
Blush Money is inspired by Pantone's Spring 2015 color Strawberry Ice. It's a gorgeous peachy pink with gold shimmer/flecks and a bit of holo. This is not as holo as the previous 3, but it does peek through in the sun, while that gorgeous gold shimmer reigns over indoors. I found this color very flattering. It's definitely a favorite! This is 2 coats.
Last but not least is To Peach His Own. I can honestly say I have nothing like this in my collection. This one is a peachy nude with holo purple, gold, green, and magenta glitters. The base is a nice nude for darker skintones. I'd love to have it as a base without the glitter too! The formula on this was nice, but needs to dry between coats because of the larger glitters. This is 3 coats.
Over all, I really loved all of these. My personal favorites are I'm So Sweet Pea, Blush Money and Cool Hand Cuke. I'm curious to see how some of the holos compare to some others in my collection. Would anyone be interested in a comparison post?
This collection will be available February 6, 2015 at KBShimmer.com . For sales outside the US, check harlowandco.org For all the latest, be sure to check out KBShimmer here:
