Hits Atena

I'm sure by now most of us nail polish fanatics have heard of the Brazilian brand Hits.  They have a gorgeous collection of holo polishes that are absolutely stunning.  Today I have on Atena.  I had to have Atena because it reminded me of OPI DS Exclusive.  I've been lemming exclusive for so long, I couldn't help but buy Atena to help quench my thirst.

The formula on this was really nice.  These aren't the type of holos that you need an Aqua Base like base coat in order for it to apply properly.  The first coat of this polish is pretty shear, but after the 2nd coat, everything is perfect.  It almost looks like a jelly finish.

This is 2 coats.

Orly Cotton Candy

Cotton Candy is from Orly's Sweet Collection for Spring 2010.  It's a nice peachy pink and works great as a pallet cleanser for me.

I have no complaints about application.

This is 3 coats.

China Glaze Prism

Prism is from China Glaze's Prismatic collection.  It's a gorgeous glitter with a slight duochrome effect that shifts from purple to blue with larger multicolored glitters interspersed throughout.

As with most glitters, this one is quick to thicken up and needs a few coats of topcoat to make it smooth.  I used one coat of Gelous and one coat of Seche Vite.

This is 2 coats.

Cult Nails Feel Me Up

Have I told you guys how much I love yellow nail polish?  I don't have enough of them in my stash.  Even though application is usually terrible and makes me want to rip my hair out, I wear them anyways.

Feel Me Up is a lovely yellow that can border on yellow/orange in certain lights, a little like OPI The "It" Color.  I must say, application wasn't awful.  It's better than most yellows.  It's a bit streaky, but 3 coats takes care of it.

This is 3 coats.

Milani Sail Away

Sail Away is one of the new polishes Milani released a few months ago.  It's a beautiful navy blue with lots of blue and silver shimmer.  It straddles the line between shimmer and foil and I love it.

Application was perfect.  All you need is one coat and it just glides on.  I had to use 2 coats to cover up some bald spots due to the nail treatment I used as a base coat.

This is 2 coats.

China Glaze Papaya Punch

Papaya Punch is apart of China Glaze's Island Escape collection for Summer 2011.  I don't have many oranges in my collection (which I need to remedy), but I do favor these creamy almost pastel looking oranges because they go so well with my skin tone.  Papaya Punch isn't any different.  I love this color!

Papaya Punch was on the thick side so application wasn't amazing.  It could actually use a bit of thinner.

This is 2 coats.

Essie Mojito Madness and a Comparison

Mojito Madness is one of the stand out colors from Essie's Bikini So Teeny Summer 2012 collection.  It's a bright, light green creme.

Application wasn't my favorite.  It's a bit on the thick side and doesn't self level.

This is 2 coats.

When I put Mojito Madness on, it instantly reminded me of  Orly's Mint Mojito.  They're close but not the same.  Mojito Madness has more blue in it, darker and more opaque than Mint Mojito.  They may be similar enough for some not to own both, but as someone who has more than 1,000 polishes, I couldn't resist :D
