Hi everyone! Today I have Blue-Eyed Girl Lacquer's Destination Polish Duo featuring Contrary Polish. This time around, the duo is inspired by a photo Carrie of Contrary Polish took while at the Sundance Film Festival. The duo will be available for pre-order from both shops from January 31st - February 7th.
Let's take a look!
Blue-Eyed Girl Lacquer Special Selection. This has a burgundy wine red jelly base and is filled with ultra chrome flakes that shift copper, gold, and fuchsia and more ultra chrome flakes that shift green, pink, and gold and there's also a scattering of holo micro glitter. This polish is beautifully pigmented. While the jelly finish allows the flakes to shine through, it also has a beautiful rich color that doesn't take much to build to opacity. The formula is easy to work with and there were no application issues. Be sure to wear a thick layer of top coat for a smooth finish.
This is 2 coats. (Use 3 for an even richer base color)
Contrary Polish Meet Me Under the Marquee. This has a crelly taupe base filled with holo flakes as well as multiple types of shifting ultra chrome flakes (mostly focusing on pink and green flakes) that gives it a rainbow look. Under indoor lighting the holo flakes come off as silver, but the holo really shines in the sun. The base doesn't muddle the flakes at all while still giving a creamy look. This does start of sheer, but builds to opacity in 3 coats. The formula is easy to work with, no issues there.
This is 3 coats.
These will be available for pre-order from BlueEyedGirlLacquer.bigcartel.com and ContraryPolish.com from 1/31 until 2/7. The duo go for $20 shipped domestically and if you're international, $20 with a prorated shipping fee. Be sure to connect with Blue-Eyed Girl Lacquer and Contrary Polish at the following spots!
