Hi everyone! It's always exciting to see a new indie brand pop up and I have a new one to show you today: Tonic Polish! I saw some of their creations on Facebook and was excited about what I saw. I was sent two polishes for review and bought 4 more. I'm missing 2 from the collection but will definitely be going back to pick those up as well.
All of these are available now from Tonic Polish.
Tonic Polish Huckleberry Sparkle. This has a indigo purple base with tons of shimmer and holo micro glitter. The shimmer in this is described as red, but in the indigo base it come off as a red-ish purple. This polish is nicely pigmented and the formula is great to work with.
This is 2 coats.
Tonic Polish Rainbowfish. This polish has a lot going on! It's an beautiful slightly muted aqua polish filled with pink leaning purple shimmer, scattered holo pigment, holo micro glitter, as well as flakes that shift from magenta to green to gold. This does go on more sheer than the others, but builds up well. The formula was easy to work with and it dries smooth without extra top coat.
This is 3 coats.
Tonic Polish Enchanted Elixir. This has a deep indigo blue base filled with that shifty shimmer that we all love that shifts from a purple-ly pink to gold to green as well as a scattering of holo micro glitter. I kept trying to catch the shift on camera and had a hard time, but it's there! Again, this has an easy to work with formula.
This is 2 coats.
Tonic Polish Light of Lyra. This is a cool toned creamy purple with heavy aqua shimmer that looks more green depending on the light. I usually shy away from these kinds of purples, but I can't resist that shimmer! It glows and is very prominent without turning frosty. Again, Tonic Polish nailed the formula. It wasn't to thick or thin, is nicely pigmented and goes on easy. With it being so shimmer heavy, it does show some brushstrokes.
This is 3 coats.
Tonic Polish Tides of Perseid. This is a deep plum purple with heavy aqua shimmer that shifts a bit magenta and gold holo micro glitter. Another easy to work with formula. No complaints.
This is 2 coats.
Tonic Polish Dragons at Dusk. This is really shifty one! Head on in bright light, it's a very green teal with blue around the edges and also shifts to violet. Pictures do this no justice and if you're obsessed with duochromes/multichromes and loved Crows Toes Huginn & Muninn, you absolutely need this. For a multichrome this was surprisingly pigmented and it goes on very well. It does show a bit of brushstroke, but not much.
This is 2 coats.
Overall, I'm so smitten with this collection! Every single one is lovely and Tonic Polish is killing it with the shimmer. They do shimmer right! This is definitely a great start for a new brand and I look forward to see what more Tonic Polish comes out with in the future! For more, be sure to check them out at the following spots!
