Hi everyone! Can you believe August is almost over? I'm so ready for fall to be here; it's my favorite time of the year. You know it's coming when you start seeing pumpkin spice everywhere.
Today I have two gorgeous limited editions from Great Lakes Lacquer that will be available all through the month of September.
Great Lakes Lacquer Mother's Mauve. My Mom’s birthday is September. She’s a lady with a heart of gold; one of those ladies that is a Mom to everyone. All of my close friends have called her Mom and do to this day. This color is a dedication to her. In my teenage years, I remember her bedroom being an explosion in mauve. All tones of mauve. She tells me that it needs to lean more pink but this is the color I remember. See? Still Mom.
I'm not usually a mauve kind of girl, but this one is a stunner. This is a very purple mauve with a gorgeous gold shimmer (which I've been obsessed with lately) and a hint of holo. Application was easy peasy.
This is 2 coats.
Great Lakes Lacquer Harvest Moon 2015: Come, Reap. In traditional folklore, the Harvest Moon is the one that comes closest to the autumnal equinox. This year’s Harvest Moon lands on September 28th. In years of old, the light of the Harvest Moon illuminated fields so that farmers could continue harvesting that year’s bounty. It signified the reaping of hard work and a close to the growing season. A time of celebrating and a time of reflecting on what has been sewn, it is the end of one stage in nature and the beginning of another. For those of you who recognize the phrase in the name from a book, there will be more to come by next year’s Harvest Moon.
This is a lovely orange leaning red jelly with shimmer! I really love this one and it works from both fall and summer. Application on this was nice, but I'd recommend waiting between coats.
This is 2 coats.
These will be available through the month of September. Be sure to check out Great Lakes Lacquer at the following places for more updates on restocks and collections!

ReplyDeleteGorgeous swatches!!!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful swatches!!
ReplyDeleteThese are all stunning!
ReplyDeleteI love this subtle holo effect !
ReplyDeleteI love how they're more rich and creamy than shimmery/holographic - gives them that definite "fall" look :) Beautiful swatches!
ReplyDeleteAbsolutely beautiful! I love the blurbs about the inspiration behind the polishes too. Since I'll always be a purple girl at heart, Mother's Mauve is my pick from these two :)
