Hi everyone! Today I have Contrary Polish's newest offerings to show you! The Coloring Outside the Lines collection consists of 6 polishes inspired by crayon shades. Each polish has a jelly base with color shifting flakes!
Let's get started!
Contrary Polish Exotic Eggplant. This has a deep slightly grayed purple base with blue shimmer and flakes. It starts off sheer, but the formula is easy to work with and builds up well.
This is 3 coats.
Contrary Polish Demented Denim. This one has a blue jelly base. The flakes in this shift from orange to gold to green. The formula on this was a little thicker, but it still applied easily.
This is 3 coats.
Contrary Polish Modern Maroon. This is kind of a brick red, but because of the jellyness of the base, can look brighter depending on the light. Either way it's super pretty. The flakes on this do shift, but the base makes them look more like red/orange flakes. I had a hard time capturing them, but they are even more prominent in person No application problems!
This is 3 coats.
Contrary Polish Perplexing Plum. This polish has a red leaning purple base with shimmer and flakes that shift from green to teal to violet on the far end of the spectrum. I really like the combo of these together. This one was slightly more sheer than the others and a little prone to patchiness. I probably could have used a 4th coat for pictures.
This is 3 coats.
Contrary Polish Extreme Outer Space. I'm having a hard time decided what to call the base color of this, but I'm going with a blackened and grayed teal. Love colors like this! And to top it of there are multiple colors of shifting flakes. This is definitely my favorite of the collection!
This is 3 coats.
Contrary Polish Magical Manatee. This has a lavender gray base that leans more gray or lavender depending on the light. The flakes in this shift from green to blue. No application problems!
This is 3 coats.
This is such a nice collection. They do dry down to a slightly mated finish, but a coat of top coat fixes that right up. I love how the flakes are able to shine through while still having a more opaque look. I actually would enjoy all the bases alone, but the flakes are such a nice surprise. If I had to choose, Extreme Outer Space and Exotic Eggplant are my favorites!
