Smitten Polish Mint Chip

Mint and chocolate.  I absolutely hate that combo whether in cookie, candy, or ice cream form.  I want to throw something at whoever came up with it.  (I know I'm in the minority here.)  Despite all this, I just had to buy Mint Chip because it was such a cute concept.

Mint Chip is a light green that leans slightly blue with both small and large brown glitter suspended throughout.  It was a little uneven, but top coat fixed all of that.

Random thought: I really wish more indies would put balls in their polish to make shaking up more effective.

This is 3 coats.

This can be purchased on Etsy or Llarowe.  (It's on sale at Llarowe right now!)

Girly Bits Star Spangled over OPI Dating a Royal

I haven't posted in a while.  So many things have been going on, but thank you to those who have stuck around!

Since today is Inauguration day, I decided to get in the spirit with Girly Bits Star Spangled.  I have to say that I was not a huge fan of the way it looked by itself.  The blue and red glitter some how got lost in translation and wasn't as bright and the red glitter wasn't as obvious as I hoped it would be.  So instead of wearing it alone, I layered it over OPI Dating a Royal and it was perfect!  If only pictures could do it justice.

Here's Dating a Royal on it's own with 3 coats:

And here it is with Star Spangled on top:

Essie Armed and Ready

Armed and Ready is from Essie's Go Overboard collection for Spring 2012.  I don't know what took me so long to wear this, because it's gorgeous!

I've seen a lot of people describe this as a green, but to me it's more gray than anything.  Maybe more of a green toned gray.  It also has this lovely copper/gold shimmer that really makes it pretty.  The shimmer is not as apparent in darker/indoor lighting, but I wouldn't call it a "hidden shimmer" either.

No complaints about application; it went on pretty smooth.

This is 2 coats.

China Glaze Call of the Wild

It's been a long time!  My nails have been breaking left and right and I haven't felt much like doing my nails.  My nails are super nubs, so of course I had to put on a vampy polish.

China Glaze Call of the Wild isn't anything super special or unique.  It's just a nice basic dark reddish brown cream.  Perfect for short nails and I'm loving it.

I had a hard time painting my nails, but this had nothing to do with the formula.  The formula is nice, but again, nothing to write home about.
