Sally Hansen Pearl Crush Swatches and Review

Press Sample

Happy Friday!

Today I have some of Sally Hansen's new Pearl Crush collection already out in stores!  These are all sheer with pearl like shimmer and large iridescent hex glitters in a tinted base. I layered all of these over a base.  Since the formula on all of these are the same, I'm going to post pictures and leave the review for the end of the post.

Let's get started!

Sally Hansen Mer-Mint layered over China Glaze Aquadelic.

Now that we've seen them all, on to the review.

The Pearl Crush polishes are very sheer.  They can be layered or worn alone if you want a more subtle look.  The hex glitters are see through, but are iridescent.  I'm thinking these are mylar.

Application was a bit funky.  The directions say to dab the polish on as opposed to painting it.  I tried that method and it was a huge fail.  I'm pretty sure they say to dab to keep the glitter on the nail, but it ends up making the shimmer look off.  In these pictures I'm opted to paint the "traditional" way.  The glitter isn't easy to get on the brush, but it helps to shake up the bottle really well.

My personal thoughts on these is that they aren't for me.  I think the idea of them is better than the actual execution.  I actually like the shimmer, but it's these massive glitters that really throws it off.  They're too big and aren't consistent. There are way too many halves and pieces of them floating around.  I think these would have been much better with smaller glitter and more of them.

So what you all think of these?
