Hits Demeter

So today for my notd (nail of the day), I decided to wear Hits Demeter.  It's been sitting in my untried pile for a while and I never wear orange much.  Orange is a color I don't have much of in my collection.  Most oranges (like this one) don't really flatter my skin tone unless it's pastel.

Demeter is a medium orange jelly holo.  The holo is pretty sparse making it look more like a scattered holo.  It's a bit sheer, so it needs to be built up.  Other than that application was perfect.  I'm still on the look out for another orange holo with more flame.  Any suggestions?

China Glaze Side Saddle

Hey everyone!  Today I have a swatch of China Glaze's Side Saddle.  This one comes from one of my favorite China Glaze collections.  Rodeo Diva from fall of 2008.  This collection had some gorgeous vampy glowing shades and this is definitely one of them.  I cant decide if Side Saddle is more brown or plum, but it's definitely a mix of the two with lots of golden shimmer.  It definitely "glows."

As for application this was definitely a bit runny and found it hard to control.  Despite that, it's still one of my favorites!

This is 2 coats.

OPI Gargantuan Green Grape

Hi loves!

After wearing all that sparkly glitter all weekend, I decided to go with something a bit subtle.  I've had Gargantuan Green Grape for a while and just never got around to wearing it.  It's a pastel green creme.  It's a little squishy and not as harsh as a pastel with more white in it.  Lately I've been seeing a more blue version in Ulta.  This doesn't surprise me.  *cough* My Private Jet *cough*

Although the color is gorgeous and I love it, the application wasn't that great.  As with most pastels, it was very streaky and takes a bit of work.  I didn't mind too much because I love the color.

This is 4 coats.

Zoya Magical Pixie Dust Swatches and Review

*press sample*

Hey loves!  I hope your weekend went well!

Today I have the Zoya Magical Pixie Dust collection for Spring 2014.  The collection consists of 3 textured polishes.  Not only are they textured, but Zoya decided to add some bling with medium size hex holo glitter!

First up is Cosmo, the silver of the bunch.  This is 2 coats.

This is with a coat of Gelous and Seche Vite.

Next is Vega, a pale blue.  This is 2 coats.

With a coat of Gelous and Seche Vite.

And last but not least is Lux, a pale pink.  This is 2 coats.

With Gelous and Seche Vite.

All of these were absolutely gorgeous.  They were a bit chunky because of the hex glitters but applied decently.  I found that the hex glitters would sometimes pile up on each other making a clump on the nail.  Other than that, they were perfect and were completely opaque in just 2 coats.  My favorite of them all was actually Lux.  On me it almost looks like a nude glitter.  Vega, on the other hand did not flatter my skin tone.  Surprisingly I actually prefer these with top coat.  Anyone else feel this way?

The Zoya Magical Pixie collection retails for $10 each polish and is available for purchase on the Zoya Website.
