Ozotic Pro 513

This gem has been in my stash for a while and I'd forgotten all about it!  Unfortunately Ozotic Pro discontinued this along with several other holos and duochromes/multichromes a while back.  I'm still trying to figure out why.

513 is a darker purple, that has a bit more red than blue, linear holo.  It's holo, so yes, I'm in love with it.  Although it's discontinued, there are so many indie brands with lovely purple holos, I'm sure there are some out there comparable to 513.

This is 3 coats, but could have gotten away with 2.

Elevation Polish Lake Achit over NYC Tudor City Teal

Today I dug into my untried pile (which is just absolutely shameful at this point), and pulled out Lake Achit and Tudor City Teal.

NYC's Tutor City Teal is a gorgeous light teal (duh) crelly (both cream and jelly finish) that is absolutely perfect.  I never payed much attention to the NYC brand aside from the matte top coat and telling myself I need to try Grand Central Station, their quick dry top coat.  I must try more!  Application on this was workable.  I say that because the formula was a bit water and hard to control for me, but it wasn't terrible and is definitely not a deterrent.  It does take a few coats to build to opacity and it's best if you wait a moment between coats.

This is 3 coats.

Elevation Polish is quickly becoming one of my favorite indie brands.  I love how she takes inspiration from nature.  Lake Achit is a glitter topper.  It has a clear base with various sizes and shapes (even stars) of blue glitter that ranges from periwinkle to almost navy.  There are also some pearly gray glitters and purple/pink/brown glitter.  Very pretty, but only one star wanted to come out and play.  The formula on this was perfect.  It wasn't crazy thick like a lot of glitter toppers tend to be.

This is one coat Lake Achit over Tudor City Teal.

I believe Lake Achit is still available on LLarowe.com and NYC can be found in CVS, Rite Aid, Target, and Walmart.  I believe Tudor City Teal is apart of the core line now.

Anyone have any suggestions on other NYC's I should try out?

Zoya Bubbly Collection for Summer 2014

*press sample

I finally finished swatching the rest of Zoya's Summer 2014 Collection!  I kept putting them on and wanting to wear it as a full mani lol.  These next 6 polishes are the Bubbly collection.  Unlike Tickled, which was filled with cremes, Bubbly consists of polishes with jelly bases, lots of gold shimmer, and what Zoya calls holo glitter.  To me these glitters aren't really holo, but more iridescent or maybe duochrome like flakies are.

Anyways, lets do this!

First up is Harper, a barbie pink.  This was definitely one of my favorites of this collection.  Unlike the rest of the collection, the base of this is more of a milky jelly.  This is 3 coats.

Alma has an orange base that is very subtle looking on the nail.  Next to my skin tone it ends up looking more gold.  Very Pretty.  This is 3 coats.

Binx is the one everyone was excited about.  This one has a magenta/redish purple base.  In my photos the gold shimmer kind of got in the way of the base a bit.  This is 3 coats.

Stassi (or as my bottle says Staasi) is the green of the collection.  Now I normally love green and I love how it looked in the bottle, but I was not a fan of how it looked on me and that made me sad.  It's kind of a dusty grass green.  This is 2 coats.

Jesy is the brighter orange in this collection.  It's an orange with a bit of pink in it, but not something I would call coral.  This is 3 coats.

And last but not least is Muse.  The one with the blue base which makes the  gold shimmer in this look gold/green.  Very pretty.  This was 2 coats.

I love glitter, so I was pretty pleased with this collection.  These are all pretty sheer and can definitely be layered.  I think they would even look nice over black.  The formula on these was pretty consistent with them needing 2-3 coats for opacity.  They weren't too thick or thin.  My favorites are Muse and Harper.

The Bubbly and Tickled collections are available for purchase on Zoya.com for $9 each.

Color Club Who Are You Wearing?

I've been wearing Zoya Wendy all weekend and loving it.  I got so many complements!  But today I decided to go for a palette cleansing nude.  This little gem has been in my collection since it was released and I've never worn it!  Who Are You Wearing comes from Color Club's Rebel Debutante collection for Spring 2010.  It's what I would call a vanilla cream or a beige color.  It's a perfect nude for my skin tone because it still kind of "pops."

Formula on this was pretty good, but the first 2 coats are a bit on the streaky side.  Nothing too bad though.

This is 3 coats.

Zoya Tickled Collection for Summer 2014 Swatches and Review

*press sample*

Today I have for you part one of Zoya's Summer Collection which is really fitting because it's been burning up these past few days.  It's been in the 90's out here in LA and I had to break the swatching up into 2 days because of the heat.  Anyways, on to swatches!

First up is Kitridge (my bottle says Kirtridge).  This one is a medium toned pink.  Bubblegum pink if you will.  It applied decently, but was thick.  If you don't apply evenly, you may end up having trouble getting it to level.  This is 2 coats.

Rocha is the only one of this collection with a little shimmer.  It's a bright (but not neon) reddish orange with some gold shimmer.  The shimmer in this is subtle.  Subtle as in it barely even shows up in photos let alone real life.  No complaints about application.  This is 2 coats.

Ling is a gorgeous blue cream.  It's a little dusty and almost reminds me of a cornflower blue (with no purple undertones).  I got asked how it compares to Robyn.  I think I'll do a comparison post in the near future, but Robyn is lighter with more green undertones.  Application was nice.  It's almost a one coater, but I ended up using 2 coats.

Rooney is a darker pink cream that almost leans magenta.  This one was thick, but the application wasn't bad.  This is 2 coats.

Tilda is green cream with a little brown/yellow in it.  This one was also thick, but workable.  This is 2 coats.

And last but not least is Wendy, a bright coral cream that is gorgeous!  This one is thick as well like a lot of the others and it did streak.  I had to use 3 coats.

Over all I really like this collection.  I've been loving creams lately so this was right up my alley.  I loved how they all popped against my skin tone.  If I had to pick favorites, I'd have to say Wendy, Ling and Rocha.

Do you plan on buying any?
