Throw Back Thursday: China Glaze Blk-Bila-Bong

Today is Throw Back Thursday on Addicted to Polish.  On Thursdays I'll be featuring older polishes from my collection.  I decided to start things off with China Glaze Blk-Bila-Bong from their 2007 Surf collection.  It has a black base that's filled with blue/green glass flecks that China Glaze was so famous for.

Application was okay.  It was streaky at first, but the next coat evened things out.

What do ya'll think?

This is 3 coats.

Orly Glowstick

It's been so hot lately.  While the rest of the country seems to be cooling down for fall, LA is just heating up. So in honor of the heat, I bring you Orly Glowstick a super bright neon yellow.  I mean highlighter yellow.  I mean so neon it kinda looks green.

As with most highlighter yellows, you may find it easiest to layer over white.  I however didn't.  Application wasn't horrible, but it wasn't great either.

This is 4 coats.

This picture was taken under artificial light.

Zoya Barbie

Just a quick post.  I feel like I don't post very much Zoya.

Zoya Barbie is from their spring 2009 Twist collection.  This was one of my favorite nudey  pinks.  It's a cream with pink shimmer in it.

I have no complaints about application.

OPI Fly

Fly is from OPI's Nicki Minaj inspired collection from earlier this year.  It's a pretty bright blue teal color.  It's one of those cream polishes that has a slightly jelly feel to it.

Application on this was perfect!  It wasn't too runny or thick and it dries super shiny for those of you who don't use top coat.

This is 2 coats.

Glitter Gal 10 to Midnight

This is my first Glitter Gal.  I bought it back in May or March (I can't remember which) am just now wearing it.  It's a charcoal gray linear holo.  This one is a little different because it's a bit frosty.  Now, I love my holo's, but for some reason I'm not completely in love with it.  I guess you could say I'm in like with it, but it may change as I wear it through the day.

Because of the frost, I think it covers up some of the holo from showing as much, but it's still pretty holo.    Application was perfect!

This is 2 coats.

(Sidenote: I think I will start doing Throw Back Thursdays.  Thanks everyone for your input!  Can't wait to see some of your throw backs.)

BB Couture Dragon's Breath

Today I decided to pull out BB Couture's Dragon's Breath.  I don't wear these types of colors very often but Dragon's Breath delivers!  It's a beautiful red toned purple that kind of reminds me of cranberry sauce.    It's a jelly with tons of tiny glitters that flash red, silver, and sometimes blue (mostly red on my nails).

It starts of sheer, but builds up quickly.  The formula was a little thick but nothing unmanageable.  My only complaint is that every time I've worn this, I get tip pull which drives me nuts!

(Side note: I was think of making Thursdays "Throw back Thursday" where I would show an older polish from my collection.  What do ya'll think?)

This is 3 coats.

Jessica Banana Peel

By now, everyone knows I love a good yellow polish, so I had to buy Jessica Banana Peel from their Gelato Mio! summer 2012 collection.  This yellow is pretty unique to my collection.  It's yellow, but has a bit of beige and orange added to the mix.

Application wasn't bad for a yellow, but it is on the thick side and is streaky on the first coat.  It gets better on the 2nd coat, but 3 was needed for me to get a completely opaque look.  Everything levels out after applying top coat.

This is 3 coats.

Pahlish My Oblivion

I'm not sure if you all know this, but indie hand mixed polish is all the rage lol.  The polish community has been inundated with these brands and I love it and the unique polishes coming out as a result.

My Oblivion is from Pahlish.  It's a dark sea blue jelly full of gold holographic glitters of different sizes and shapes, including some bar glitter.  It has tons of glitter so application can be a bit more difficult.  It's also sheer, so some people may prefer to layer it over something else.  I chose to wear it alone, but I will be trying it layered next time I wear it.

This is 3 coats.

China Glaze Sexagon

Sexagon comes from one of China Glaze's best collections (in my opinion) Kaleidoscope.  It was a collection entirely made up of scattered holo polishes.  Sexagon is the true silver of the collection and it's gorgeous.  The pictures speak for it.
