Orly Stone Cold

Stone Cold is from Orly's Mineral FX collection from 2011.  It has a blue base with blue tiny flaky like shimmer.  Application was just okay.  It was a little on the thick side and shrunk a bit at the tips.

This is 2 coats.

Essie Go Overboard

This one is from Essie's Go Overboard collection.  It's a beautifully pigmented deep teal cream.  What's not to love?

The pigment on this is extremely saturated, so you can definitely get away with just one coat.  I used 2 here.  I don't know why, but when I applied it, it was just slippin' and slidin' all over the coat of Gelous I used as my base.  When I swatched it on a finger without base, I didn't have this problem.  Don't know what that's about.

This is 2 coats.

China Glaze Electrify

I am absolutely in LOVE with this glitter!  I know we've seen it a million times, but this is from China Glaze's Hunger Games inspired collection.  It's full of gold glitter with larger red glitter interspersed through out.  How can you not love this?

True to glitter fashion, this polish was on the thick side and took 3 coats for full opacity.

My pictures do this polish no justice.

OPI Dutch 'Ya Just Love OPI?

This one is from OPI's Dutch inspired collection for spring 2012.  It's a lovely red based purple with a golden pink shimmer.  I have a love hate relationship with this color.  It doesn't look great on me, but I love the color.  Oh well.  I'm wearing it anyways lol.

Application on this was nice.  I have no complaints.

This is 2 coats.

Jelly Sandwich

Today I decided to try a jelly sandwich mani.  I first saw it on Goose's Glitter and it was absolutely gorgeous.

For this I used Essie Marshmallow and Wet n Wild Correction Tape.  My friend who saw it said my nails look like sugar cookies lol

This is 3 thin coats Marshmallow, followed by 1 coat Correction Tape, and another layer of Marshmallow.

Layla Ocean Rush

Ocean Rush, where have you been all my life?  It's gorgeous!  Ocean rush is a medium blue holo.  A lot of the blue holos are a pale blue and if I don't have them right next to a silver holo, I almost can't tell it's supposed to be the blue version (I'm looking at you Nfu Oh 65).

A word of advice, don't even try to put this on without a base coat like Aqua Base or it will be impossible to apply.  While you do need a base coat made for holos, top coat isn't necessary.  It dries nice and shiny, so there's no need to worry about destroying the holo with a top coat.

I love this polish so much, I think I need to invest in the rest of the collection.

This is 2 coats.

China Glaze Sunshine Pop

Sunshine Pop is a gorgeous yellow from China Glaze's ElectroPop spring 2012 collection.  It has a bit of silvery shimmer in it as well.

I love this yellow.  Actually, I love yellows polish in general.  They don't get enough love because of the craptastic formula they often have, but they're so pretty once on.  Sunshine Pop has a pretty decent formula.  I was prepared to layer on 4 coats trying to smooth it out, but it went on pretty smooth and I didn't want to shoot my self in the middle of applying.

This is 3 coats.

OPI I Don't Give a Rotterdam!

I haven't been painting my nails on a regular basis lately and it's starting to show.  I obviously need to get back on track because my cuticles are hating me and it seems as if my painting, clean up, and picture taking skills are off now too.

Anyways, I Don't Give a Rotterdam is from OPI's Holland collection.  It's a pretty dusty blue with tiny flecks of gold glitter.  I absolutely love this color, but for some reason it doesn't love me.  It makes my skin look dirty.  I'll definitely have to come back to this and try it again when I'm not so frustrated with everything else.

This is 3 coats.
